PREPARATORY STAGE

PREPARATORY STAGE

Class 3rd to 5th (8 - 11 Years)

The preparatory stage of education builds upon the play, discovery, and activity-based pedagogy of the foundational stage while incorporating more formal classroom learning and the use of light textbooks. The focus on skill development through activity-based and subject-integrated learning, along with the integration of multiple intelligences, helps to lay a strong foundation for the development of key subjects such as reading, writing, speaking, physical education, art, languages, science, and mathematics.

Despite the introduction of specialised subjects, the focus remains on experiential learning, exploration of inter-subject relations, and the development of social and emotional skills through SEL and AEP modules to support students during the crucial stage of adolescence.

The secondary stage of education consists of four years of multidisciplinary study with a focus on greater depth, critical thinking, and flexibility in subject selection to cater to students’ life aspirations. The curriculum also emphasises the value of education and exposure to different career options, giving students the opportunity to exit and re-enter in the next phase to pursue different courses available in Grades 11 and 12.

Through dramatic play, children develop language, social, and emotional skills while also enhancing their cognitive abilities through pretend play scenarios.

ART & CRAFT CORNER

The arts and crafts corner provides an opportunity for children to express themselves creatively while learning about different materials, colors, shapes, and textures. Through exploration and experimentation, children develop important skills such as problem-solving, fine motor skills, and creativity, while having fun in a relaxed environment.

READING CORNER

Reading corners are an important part of early childhood education as they help children develop reading habits, language skills, and a love for books. By introducing children to a wide range of age-appropriate books and encouraging them to explore and read independently, the reading corner promotes critical and creative thinking skills while nurturing a lifelong love for learning.
